Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Andrew Welles developed his passion for horses at a young age. Andrew grew up in the sport, training under renowned equestrians Missy Clark and Chris Kappler. As a junior, he produced top results in the equitation ring before entering the international show jumping scene in 2008.

Andrew frequents the most prominent shows in North America, including the Hampton Classic, the American Gold Cup, Washington International Horse Show, the Winter Equestrian Festival, and Spruce Meadows, in addition to many international shows in Europe. Andrew has produced top three results in the many of the top Grand Prix’s on the tour including the Grand Prix of Devon, the ATCO Power Queen Elizabeth ll Cup, the Hampton Classic Grand Prix, the Grand Prix of Miami Beach, The Mary Rena Murphy Grand Prix in Lexington, the 5* Governors Cup in Tryon, and throughout multiple weeks of the Winter Equestrian Festival.

Andrew made his first Nations Cup appearance in 2009, representing the United States in Linz, Austria and Lisbon, Portugal. Recently, Andrew was selected to represent the United States at the 2018 Spruce Meadows Masters CSIO5*, a leg of the Rolex Grand Slam, as well as the 2019 FEI Jumping Nations Cup Canada held in Langley, British Columbia. Additionally, competes regularly and produces clear rounds in FEI World Cup™ Jumping qualifiers around the country.
